Does anyone else out there remember
Best of the West? It was a Western sitcom from the creators of
Taxi and
Cheers, but it only lasted one year. I used to think it was hysterical back when I was a kid. And to this day, whenever I see
this guy I think to myself..."Hey, it's Froggy from
Best of the West!"
Then again, I'm a bit odd.

A BIT odd?!
Okay. We'll go with that...
:)
I remember this! It was kind of a twist on the "Green Acres fish out of water" theme, right ?
And everytime I see that guy, I think of Miller from Repo Man!
This has jogged my memory of a show called "Up All Night" about a family that worked in a 7-11 type store. It lasted half a season, but I remember thinking it was hilarious! It was a Mom and Dad and their adult son, who was a doofus. George Dzundza was the Dad, Susan Tyrell was the Mom,and Sam Whipple was the son.

Not sure why I felt the need to share all that.
Not only did a young Slyde watch this show in its entirety when it was on the air (ABC, if i remember), but to this day i ALWAYS consider that guy as Froggy....
That must have been on during one of my blackouts.
when i first read this i saw: "But then i'm a bit old" and i thought Yup, that makes sense.
Sybil - just a bit. :)
Paticus - I remember that one too, although I don't think I would have if you hadn't brought it up.
Slyde - Wow...the rare bit of agreement from you. I'm touched. No...not there, you sicko!
RW - I dig. I missed almost all of whatever the networks were running in the early 90's.
Diva - I saw that too and was wondering if anyone was gonna be rude enough to make the connection. ;)
I can't say I remember this one.
Does that mean I am not odd? :)
Candy - Oh, I saw the NSFW picture on your blog today. Tag...you're odd! ;)
Yeah, I remember it. It was pretty terrible in an amiable sort of way...
wv: hocory - as I'm feeling hocory tonight baby!
yeah, i guess you can say that
but you're the right size
so we dont have to throw you back
youre a keeper
Appears to be the Epitath of the TV Western. This reminded me of a line of Marx toys that were centered around a television character named Johnny West. The toys were also referred to as 'Best of the West', although I beleive there was no correclation to a television show with them.
