So back in 2003 there was this fanboy who made his own Batman short film that cost in the neighborhood of $30,000. OK, he's not really a fanboy. He is in the film business and his name is Sandy Collora. And he is releasing his first feature film in the near-future. A sci-fi project called Hunter Prey and it is being called a pretty interesting blend of Enemy Mine and Treasure of Sierra Madre. Really.
But it's the Batman short film that I find to be more interesting. It's an injured Bats chasing down an escaped Joker in the rain. At first I thought it was gonna be something similar to the end of "The Killing Joke", but then all Hell breaks loose. You'll see what I mean. It's not glossy, it's not shiny. But it feels more like a Batman film than just about anything ever done by someone not named Christopher Nolan.
Check it out, even though you probably already saw it 6 years ago.

Pretty cool. I had not seen it before. I thought the guy who played the Joker looked familiar, so I looked him up, and he played Richard "Boner" Stabone on "Growing Pains"!!!
believe it or not, i have never seen this.
and i STILL havent, since i cant see this shit at work.
i'll have to check it out tonight.
p.s. my word verification word is "manvxsle"
Paticus - Wow! I thought he looked familiar too. Good ole' Boner! Nice job.
Slyde - I think you are really gonna like it.
Yeah, I remember that. I was so impressed and back then was hoping that someone would make a Batman film like that.
Avitable - Did you ever see his trailer for World's Finest? Same actor for Batman and the guy he got for Supes was pretty good.
Yeah, I remember that too. It was excellent!
Odd little film, was waiting to see if a Wookie and a Vampire came into the mix somewhere. Although, pretty well done if they only spent $30,000 on it. Would look good on a resume if you are trying to get a job with a studio.
Bruce - Well, Batman has fought Predators, Aliens and Dracula in various graphic novels so vampires wouldn't have been too out of place.
That was fun, I haven't seen this before either.
Odd being the operative word here. Not bad though for such a tight budget.
Ookami - After reading about it, I'm not sure how it escaped my radar back then. Odd.
Jimmy - And yet the number 1 movie in the USA for the past several weeks was reportedly made for even less than that meager amount. Paranormal Activity.
First time I have seen it, pretty good, makes me want to see more.
