This is a giant isopod. They can grow upwards of 2 1/2 feet in length, it lives in the deep cold waters of the Atlantic and it feeds on the carcasses of dead whales.
But what it really feeds on...is your soul!!!

This fella made recent news when he attached himself to a remote-controlled submersible that was checking out the ocean floor. Came up with the sub, and it was one of the largest specimens ever caught.

ReplyDeleteRW - It is a common dish in Northern Taiwan, or so says the Wiki. Says the meat is similar in taste and texture to crab or lobster meat. I'd imagine it would taste good with a horseradish shrimp sauce.
