Blogger in Draft

Uh oh. Not sure I'm gonna like this.

Is anyone else using "Blogger in Draft" out there besides Steph?

Hmm.  Putting an image in the middle of a post is now easier, but they took away that funcionality from their HTML box.  I kinda liked that.  And I don't see how you can align the image to the left or the right of a paragraph or re-size it.  Wait...I see how you can resize it now.  You have to click on the image in the Compose box.  Still don't know how to change the alignment easily.

What else?  They have an Undo feature now.  That's good.  I don't see a spell check button, though.  Where the hell is that?  How am I supposed to spell "parallel" correctly? OK, so they underline the mis-spelled word in red, but still.  Everything else seems about the same.  I just don't know why the took stuff away from the HTML editor.

What do you Blogspot folks think?

I'd say that if Blogger was a man, I'd have knocked him on his sorry arse by now.

I've seen less bugs under a rock! 3attempts at editing HTML has taken me over an hour. It is a feckin disgrace.

Rant over..

I don't know about "Blogger in Draft" or even where to find it, even though I use Blogspot. My technological phobia is such that I use only the functions I'm comfortable with in any software and avoid at all cost expanding my horizons. I know it's bad, but trying something new so often has led me to disaster that I'm gun shy.

To align text around an image, type your text first, insert the image and drag it where you want it. Lot of damned work!

I'm not familiar with any blogger draft thing either but I'm not having any trouble with mine. I just did a big makeover and I am damn happy with it, have never had trouble using any of the tools and such. THOUGH, I am still pissed at Google/Blogger for slapping me with the "Content Warning" page for posting a pic of a rubber vagina sex toy, not even in use, LOL.

Maybe if you moved over to a real blogging platform you wouldn't have these issues!

Jimmy - i had just gotten used to doing all my posts in HTML, and now they are changing it up again. Feh.

MikeB - On your Dashboard, you can find a link for Blogger in Draft if you so care. They are going to change it to this soon anyway, so you may as well get used to it.

Steph - I don't know why they took the option out when you were first uploading the pictures. Silly.

Wil - It's a voluntary thing right now, but they will upgrade everyone to it eventually.

Becky - another plus for Wordpress.

Michelle - see my comment above for MikeB. If you dare.

Avitable - ha!

2abes - my secret is out! ;)

Wil's full of shit. He was wearing that rubber vagina sex toy out. That's what got the content warning slapped on his page.

I'm a blogger "idiot-savant" I guess I'll deal with the changes once they're mandatory.

Verdant Earl said...

Slyde - it's in Beta. Check your dashboard.

Heff - Ha!

I use it once in a while - sometimes they have some new stuff that's okay.

I've not heard of this buy will check it out. Spell Chicker in Blogger is terrible.

I never switch to anything voluntarily. When it's mandatory, I'll do my obligatory whining then.

Verdant Earl said...

Paige - you are so very cutting edge. ;)

Zibbs - well, they got rid of it. Now they just use the old standby of the dreaded red underline.

Callie - way to hold firm in your whatever. ;)

I'm unwilling to pay one cent to write stuff on a blog, so I stay at blogspot as long as it is free, but I don't know of this thing of which you speak. I specified the old format ages ago and have not agreed to any changes. So unless I've snuck under the radar my photos still have the old left/right/center/none check off and my template is 100% html. I resist change with firearms.

RW - I like Blogger too. I've tried Wordpress, but it didn't IMpress. The Blogger in Draft stuff is still in beta, so you are safe for the time being. But times be coming, my man. Times be coming.

I have a serious problem with the fact that I don't know how to delete a picture from a post once you've uploaded it. It friggin happened to me today, with the extra flip flop pic. I was so pissed because I was just about to publish and SINCE I can't cut and paste text from a edit post I just about had a heart attack.

And, as you can see, if I am having problems with these minor things I am bitching about, then you can understand that I have no friggin idea what the hell you're talking about.

Thanks for listening.

I have no clue what blogger draft is. I write my posts on Wordpad then copy and paste and post date it. I like to be simple that way.

Verdant Earl said...

Candy - just delete the code in the HTML box. Try that next time.

~E - Sure, if you call using another program to post your blog posts keeping it simple. ;)
