Earl's favorite film scenes: Volume V

Here's a quick one from Quick Change. An underrated Bill Murray comedy from 1990.  Randy Quaid (what's the deal with him lately?) plays his dumb but loyal bank-robbing sidekick who has a little thing about bad luck.

This particular scene never fails to make me laugh.  It's just so out-of-the-blue and it totally fits my sense of odd humor.  Or my odd sense of humor.  You know what I mean...

There are obviously some verrry big holes in my movie experience.

Wow. I'm embarrassed to say that I've never seen that movie! Looks like I've been missing out.

Holly - the rest of the flick is pretty funny too.

MikeB - There is also a French version of the movie made a few years earlier with, believe it or not, Kim Catrall.

Paticus - All the clown stuff in the beginning is hilarious! The street barker yelling "Nude Women!" until he sees Murray as the clown stroll by. "Clowns welcome! Clowns welcome!" Brilliant!

RW - Ah, this one slipped through the cracks for a lot of folks. But it's a goofy AND smart caper film if you are into that kind of thing.

Kat - Nah...just one of the club.

Slyde - Yeah, he's nuts right now. Not paying his hotel bills...who does he think he is? Lindsey Lohan? There have been a handful of films that I've enjoyed his work. This is one of them.

Wow, and here I was thinking I'd seen everything Bill Murray had been in. Guess not.

im pretty sure it was more than unpaid hotel bills..

didnt he and his ugly wife go on some mini-bonnie and clyde thing about a year ago? i remember them doing something illegal that made me say "what the fuck?"

plus he tried to sue ang lee over some brokeback mountain silliness...

he's wacky, i tells ya!

I recall seeing this when it first came out, where Bill robs a bank dressed as a clown....and when the negotiator trys to talk down to him on the phone, he has the classic line..."...you remind me of my lieutenant in Vietnam...I fragged him." (or something like that, it has been a long time.)

Kevin - He was dressed as a clown for the first act of this one. Check it out!

Slyde - Yeah, there was some other stuff in there too. But I think they initially went on the run for an unpaid bill. Weird.

Sybil - It's actually not too cheesy. And it was Bill Murray's directorial debut as a co-director.

Heff - And it had to hurt too!

Verdant Earl said...

Bruce - Yeah, it was something like that. Murray had some great one-liners in this one.
