Because it's the only thing out there that introduces me to new artists/music or reunites me with some artists that I haven't heard in a very long time for one reason or another.
Like Gill Landry, an artist who I had never really heard of before. But I was listening to a Tom Waits station that I had set up, and "Mexico" by Mr. Landry has popped up several times over the past few month. I dig.
Then there is Alice Donut, a band who I LOVED back in the early 1990's. I don't think I've heard anything by them since, well, the last time I mentioned them here on the Dude. But man...I still love some of their stuff. "Magdalene" is such a great song. If you were a fan of Jane's Addiction or Sonic Youth back in the day, then you may enjoy it as well. Dig times two.

I've totally heard Gill Landry (probably on my own Tom Waits station!) but not Alice Donut.
Pandora really is cool. It's just a cool concept overall.
Alice Donut? That's a great name for a band.
We listen to Pandora all day in the store. Genius.
i use Pandora while im here at work...
see? we relate!
Sybil - I looked him up and apparently we aren't the only ones to find him through Tom Waits.
Candy - The band name always gave me a smile.
Slyde - I'd be real interested to hear the kind of music you listen to on Pandora.
Yeah, Pandora's pretty cool. Whip me, Beat me, make me hear Judas Priest.
Pandora is not the only she-devil with a magical box!!
I had never even heard of Pandora until I started working at Dish. They just released the Hopper HD DVR, and it includes music with Pandora and Sirius. I listen to it while I'm cleaning the house or writing, and I love how Pandora just seems to know what I'm wanting to hear. I've never heard of Alice Donut, but I love Jane's Addiction. Another of my fave artists I run into a lot on my stations is Leonard Cohen. Dark and brooding and simple is the perfect writing music for me!
James - Yeah, I was aware of Leonard Cohen before Pandora, but it's only since joining have I really found his music. Amazing. And heya!
