We are in full-on multi-task mode tonight in the Cornfield.
I'm going to open up the chat room at 8PM EST so that we can live-blog the Oscars broadcast. I should have lots to offer since I've seen all of two of the films that have been nominated. Hehe.
Then at 9PM, I'll start the radio show where the Colonel and I will offer witty and not-so-witty commentary. We'll also talk about baseball during the commercial breaks and that segment where the accountants discuss the voting procedures. Maybe during the silly musical numbers as well. We'll see.
So if you are watching the show tonight and you plan on having your computer in front of you, why not join us in the Cornfield for a true community experience.
Plus as many pee jokes as we can think of. Urine for a special evening. See what I did there?

Oscars in the Cornfield
Hey kids!
This Sunday, during our regularly scheduled recording of Just Talking to the Cornfield at 9PM EST, we are going to attempt to live-blog the Oscars broadcast at the same time. I know the Oscars start before then, but we'll catch everyone up on what happened before.
And we'll fill the down-time with our usual baseball drivel. Including as many urine jokes as possible in honor of Ryan Braun getting his 50-game suspension overturned yesterday. So...urine for a great time. Get it?
Uh...sorry about that. Join us Sunday night in the Cornfield, and I'll try to make it up to you.

Live-Blogging the Oscars. Again.
I can't believe it, but this is the third year of using Cover It Live to host an Oscar Party here on the ole Verdant Dude. So if you aren't doing anything on Sunday night other than sitting in front of the boob (hehe) tube watching the Oscars, then why don't you join us? Because the only thing better than actually drinking with the likes of myself, Water Logged Canine and Sybil Law (I'm assuming), is to come and chat with us during the Oscars while we are all drinking virtual-style. Huh?
I'll send out a reminder on Sunday because you all seem a little bit flighty, if you ask me. I set it up for 7PM Eastern so we can get our red carpet catty insults on, if you are into that kinda thing. Or just show up at 8PM for the show and we'll try to pretend we weren't talking about you.
PS - Great Oscars story. John Waters was on Craig Ferguson the other night talking about award shows. He said that all award shows have a certain sexual proclivity. The Golden Globes are the swingers. The SAG Awards are the hipster sexual crowd. Et cetera. But the Oscars, Waters said, were totally gay. If you are into the Oscars, especially at an early age, then you are totally gay. Well maybe I am, and MAYBE I AM!

Live-Blogging the Oscars
Well, it's all set up for 8PM tonight. If the dispute between Cablevision and Disney/ABC is settled by then. So pour your favorite cocktail, put your feet up and join us for some witty repartee. Or not.
Note: Remember to play the Bug-Eyed Trivia Challenge every day. 10 choices for Best Picture? Really?

Question about the Oscars
Note: Hey...remember this blog? Yeah, it's still around. And we are still watching bad movies so you don't have to. A new review is up. Ignore it at your leisure. - Earl
Last year I live-blogged the Oscars using a widget from Cover It Live. It was hella fun. OK...maybe not, but it was a hella distraction. At least for the 4-5 people who showed up and participated.
So I'm thinking of doing it again, but it all depends on you. My faithful sycophants. Is anyone interested in joining me here for the excitement? Let me know in the comments and if 4-5 of you are into it then I will accommodate. You are gonna owe me though.
That is, of course, if my cable provider doesn't dump ABC from it's service on Sunday before the telecast. Could happen. Disney, the parent company of ABC, and Cablevision are having a real nasty to-do over $40 million that Cablevision wants to charge Disney for retransmission charges. I have no idea what that means, but it sounds technical. The TV commercial battle has been particularly brutal. I imagine executives from each company stroking their long-haired Persian cats while mwuh-ha-ha-ing at us lowly peasants.
No big whoop for me if I can't watch the Oscars live. I'll just drink a few bacon bourbon cocktails (bacon drink) and watch a movie instead. As long as they resolve their issues before next week's episode of Lost.
