Irish

It was a joyous weekend for the sports fan that is me.

Excuse me, miss*...who does your hair?

Notre Dame beat Michigan State and all was well in the world. Meant I got to wear my ancient Irish hat with unrestricted joy. Add two victories for the Yankees on Saturday and Sunday to the equation and all was...fabulous. And I'm using that word as a man with a strict heterosexual resume. Was a fabulous weekend all around.

Next weekend is the Pickle Festival (see heterosexual resume referenced above), and then the hits keep on coming. I love me some weekends in the Fall.

Quick aside about the sports fan that is me. I've recently come to the conclusion that I'm kind of a fair-weather sports fan. I'll always root for Notre Dame football and NY Yankees baseball, no matter how well or poorly they fare. I just have a hard time watching them when they are in the crapper. The Yankees have been tough to watch for the past month or more. And Notre Dame, while always finishing with a winning record, have had some real clunkers these past few years. Here's to hoping for a great year for the Irish. Beating Michigan State was a great moment for them.

*Just got a few inches trimmed off last week too. I don't know how you ladies do it all your lives. I've had long hair for 3-4 years now and it can be an awful pain sometimes.

two love football games, two wins. i think pitt and the steelers should pay me to attend all of their home games.

honest question...why do you keep your hair long if you think it is a pain? i'm not a fan of long hair on guys so i am honestly asking. (the only reason i keep my hair long is because men seem to not be overly fond of women who shave their heads. seriously.)

Mapstew - Worth all that and more. Thank you, sir. ;)

Becky - I watched both of those games. Pitt looked great vs Va Tech. I was rooting for them. But I would have preferred a different outcome in the NFL game. I keep my hair long because Gia likes it. And because I don't like my hair short either. I'd shave it all off if I didn't think I had an odd shaped head underneath it all.

Slyde - You went to a West Point game? Outstanding! And I know you used to be a Raiders fan, so...

I'm guessing here that Notre Dame and Michigan are to Amerikay what Celtic and R*ngers are to Scotland and Ireland?

If that is the case, get it up yis ya proddy basts! C'mon the Celts.

Notre Dame has some big rivalries (USC, Michigan, etc...), but Michigan STATE isn't a traditional rival. They have been recently, but not on a Celtic/Rangers level.

Speaking of pickles I was at the Chester County (PA) restaurant festival yesterday and of the 75 plus food vendors the fried pickles stand had the longest line. I was going to try them but the line was too long. I've never had them.

Zibbs - Fried pickles, if possible, are even better than un-fried pickles. Because of the fried part, ya know?
