Dawg, 11/11/11 in any year is a minute's silence in the UK (and a few other countries too) to remember the war dead (mostly World War I, as this is Armistice Day - treaty was supposedly signed at 11am, on the eleventh day of the eleventh month, 1918). Everyone's wearing poppies today too - that's another way we mark remembrance.
Shots would be nice though.
