The Spirit Arrives

I finally got into the Christmas Spirit today.

I think I looked at the calendar and realized that Christmas is only like a week or so away and I freaked.  Did some Christmas shopping, put up some Christmas lights, listened to some rock 'n roll Christmas tunes.  You know the drill.  Didn't go as far as putting up a tree.  We never put up a tree.  We have a fake one, but the cats will fuck it up too much.  And a real tree...well, I think they would die from the excitement.  Besides, we mostly spend Christmas Day with our family.  Somewheres.  And we are lazy.  So there's that.

Anyway, here's my favorite Christmas song.  "Father Christmas" by Greg Lake.  For anyone who gives a rat's ass.  Hoo hoo hoo!

They say you learn something new every day
And today I've learned that we share the same affinity for favorite rock n roll Christmas song.

Should I really be surprised? Give us some money!

Threw me for a sec. Greg Lake covering the Kinks? Ooooh.

I got the Xmas spirit when I popped open my first six of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale on Nov. 23. Aaaaah.

I still have very little spirit, and that's thanks to cramps and annoying people bugging me from all sides. Not you, though. :)
Great song, though!

Doggie - Did you listen to the song? It isn't the "Give me some money" Kinks tune.

Uncool - I specifically have stayed away from Christmas and Winter Ales thus far this season. I'll remedy that...TONIGHT!

Sybil - The Cramps were a great band. That's what you meant, right?

Becky - In the past, I've always left a few presents out until Christmas Eve. I would wake up real early, go out for a big breakfast and hit the stores just as they were opening up. Then spend the rest of the morning wrapping and listening to Christmas music before heading off to wherever I was heading off to. Haven't done that for a couple of years, but I think I may resurrect the tradition. :)

Heff - Nah...plenty of time left.

The last present arrived yesterday and I'm going for my wife's stocking stuffers this weekend. I guess we'll have to hold off on the revolution until after Christmas...

RW - Damned holiday putting a cramp in the revolution like that...

It's fuckin' misleading dick. I watched the video...it sucks.

Do you even know your daughter? There's no WAY she likes that song! Oh...oh...she's not in a coma is she?

Doggie - Top five musical crimes perpetuated by Stevie Wonder in the '80s and '90s. Go. Sub-question: is it in fact unfair to criticize a formerly great artist for his latter day sins, is it better to burn out or fade away?

PS - This song, however, fucking rules. It's a classic. So is the Kink's song, by the way. I dig both.
