How 'bout some West Coast mod ska? These guys were a transition from ska to rap. I'd link you to "freak in the street" but origins rap is kinda embarrassing nowadays. Still, you could look that up yourself and just sort of squint. Anyway, there's this.

Hank - I dig Mephiskapheles. Saw them several times live back in the mid-90's. Once in a small bar, and there may have been more folks in the band than in the crowd. But they were a big part of the Moon Ska NYC scene back in the day. Good stuff!

The Specials were so good. Gangsters and Too Much Too Young are just classic songs. Must listen tonight.
