Lusso - NYC

Gia and I had a lovely dinner out in NYC on Sunday night at an Italian restaurant named Lusso in SoHo.

We were there for a beer tasting dinner featuring a number of premium Italian beers.

What's that? Italian beer?
A new Italian restaurant in SoHo?
Sunday night, fer crissakes?

Well you can read all about it over at the Beer-Eyed Blog. My full review of the evening and the beers can be found there.

Ha!

I didn't yet read the beer reviews but I'm not hopeful. I have traveled to a number of different countries in Europe and the least "beer" able was Italy. While Italy has a lot to offer in terms of history, art, etc...beer was not one of its better offerings. Stick with the Vino when in Italy.

2abes - the beer revolution in Italy is a recent one. I hear you about the vino, but trust me...it has improved dramatically in the past few years.

Wise guys drinking beer? Whatever happened to the days of Joe Pesci quaffing a decent Chianti Piccini from Tuscany, just before he stabbed someone in the eye?

Standards are slipping. Please send me a case of beer / lager? for my immediate taste session.
