I'm heading here
) for lunch with a guy who smells like a wet dog
. I love this Man v. Food
show, if only because he loves low-brow, down-home cuisine as much as I do. Or at least that's how they portray his "character" on the show. He's an actor, ya know. Whatevs. I just want a sopping wet roast beef and cheese sammy. Yeah, that's two posts in a row about sandwiches. Sue me, I've got an addiction.
Note: Remember to play the Bug-Eyed Trivia Challenge every day. I really want that Garugulo burger too!
BAH. can't get the audio on this one but.
Mr. Hall makes some awesome Au jus sammiches!
(mrs. hall makes the homer simpson mouthwatering sound)
well. i guess what i have learned in the past two days, with these posts . . . is that i can never be a vegetarian again.
Holly - A vegetarian? Screw that!
Man vs. Food ruined my diet. I had lost 10 pounds and then I watched this crapface and just started reveling in it all over again. I hate this guy... except I love this guy... when I don't hate him... or dig him... I don't like him at all... and I never miss a show.
God damn guy.
RW - I think I second every emotion in that comment. Wait...um, yeah! I do! By the way, I so want one of those Italian beef sandwiches that they serve at A1 Beef in Chicago. That was another episode. Fucking A!
damn, good thing i live in the south! hold on, wtf am i saying? road trip!!! xoxox
Our version is on a long French bread roll and comes with a choice of hot giardinera, sauteed green peppers, sport peppers, jalepeno or sauteed onions... or combinations of the above. The roast beef is cooked in Itralian (Chicago spelling is correct) spices and it is served with virtual mountains of fries that are sometimes just fries and other times "hot" spiced with something that I don't know what it is exactly but it has a temperature.
As in most street food discussions there is a tendency to say this or that is the best ever blah blah blah. I've mentioned before it's a fool's argument. In Philadelphia you eat Philly food. In New Yok you eat New Yok food. In Chicago... Atlanta... San Francisco...etc. the same.
I like it all.
Therein lies my problem...
Savannah - Oh, I think you got your own grand food joints where you are. I wouldn't worry about it. Speaking of road trips, though...I think we decided to to a day trip to Savannah when we head down to Charleston in April. I'll have to get your suggestions.
RW - They serve a hot pork sandwich in Philly that I'm dying to try. Sopping wet with fresh provolone and garlicky broccoli rabe. Gia was taking a sales rep from Philly around the Island a few months back to visit her beer customers. He brought one of these with him and they split it for lunch. She kept the wrapper in the Mini for a week because it smelled so good. :)
Dude, i thought you were my sandwhich buddy?? Okay, i don't eat red meat - but not because i don't love it, because it doesn't love me.
my 'beef' (per se) is "SOGGY!!!" the K.F.J.!!!! i can't help it, i'm a texture person. it looks really really tasty, but i wouldn't be able to do the soggy...
Sandwiches are beautiful,
Sandwiches are fine.
I like sandwiches, I eat them all the time;
I eat them for my supper and I eat them for my lunch;
If I had a hundred sandwiches, I'd eat them all at once.
~ Fred Penner
you didnt just REALLY say "Whatevs", did you? please tell me i read that wrong...
Diva - Soggy beef is goooooood! ;)
Suzi Q - Takes me a minute to remember who you are with this new sname. I dig that poem in a big way!
Slyde - Dude, do you even read my blog or do you skim it. I use "whatevs" all the fucking time. Sheesh...whatevs.
That's right up my alley. Now I need a Rick's Hot Roast Beef (Philly)
Can't speak... drooling...
to answer your question, i skim it (at best).
We just started watching this show on Netflix Watch Instantly and are really enjoying it. This clip makes me want to visit Brooklyn. Badly.
Zibbs - That sounds pretty good too!
Sybil - here's a napkin...
Slyde - imagine my surprise.
Jimmy - it was a sublime lunch, my friend.
Ren - it was worth the trip for me. Of course, I live pretty close. ;)
glad to assist, sugar! i'll start making the list now! xoxox
