Walking in a Winter...

...blah blah blah.

Heading into NYC today to get my Christmas shopping done. And it's supposed to snow a decent amount. I guess that will put me firmly in the Holiday mood. Or piss me off.

I've got a full itinerary including breakfast at this place.

Check out the menu if you get a chance.

It's huge! What would you order? I'm thinking the South Pork special (eggs, grits, sausage gravy) or the Whitley (seared chipotle eggs) or the Zackzuka (sizzling chorizo, eggs, cilantro, pepper).

Did I mention that breakfast is my absolute favorite meal?

Right now, at a little past midnight, I'd take the Mo' breakfast. I loves me my pancake sammiches.

What are you getting me for Christmas?

Steph - I'm not a pancake guy, but that does sound delish.

Expat - Peace on Earth. What? Not enough? ;)

My first reaction is that I love that snowy picture, but then I remember what it's like. I'll happily drive my kids two hours away to play in the snow once or twice this winter. And all season long I'll enjoy the snow capped mountains in the distance.

I usually order lunch for breakfast. A bacon cheeseburger on grilled sourdough at Cracker Barrel at 7 AM is heaven.

I would think that any menu item with the name of Blisters on my Sisters would be a must try.

Holy shit...that is massive! I would go the Zackzuka too or the ful medames if I had a hangover. Just can't imagine snow at Christmas time - or any time really. Good luck with the shopping.

One orange juice please. One MUST have juice in the morning!

I'm a huge fan of juice and one beautiful sweater from Sax's if you walk past it.

Have a super snowy weekend

I went with the Zackzuka today, just in case you all wanted to know. Made by Zack Shopsin himeself. He's the son of Kenny Shopsin, the original dude himself.

It's his take on a Jewish meal called Schakzuka, and he replaces the original zucchini in the recipe with chorizo and adds cilantro. Yum...delish.

The rest of the day sucked.

Well, at least that is a pretty picture.

I love breakfast too. I wish I could just get up earlier in the day and have it. I'd much rather have a big breakfast and have all day to work it off than a big dinner and then let it sit all night (I mean, don't get me wrong, doing that last bit feels good but it isn't helping my waistline any). ;)

I like snow if I don't have to shovel it or travel in it.

Took a stroll over here from Heff's place...

Snow like that would totally piss me off, however, that menu would make me have warm fuzzies.

Ever been to Juniors??? One of our salesmen is from Brooklyn and ships us cheesecake all the time.
God bless Juniors.

Verdant Earl said...

Catscratch - Heya! Yeah, Junior's cheesecake is da bomb diggity. Huh, what?

Poppy said...

Cream of garlic soup with a side of Matzo ball soup, please.

What'd you actually get? I bet you said already.

Verdant Earl said...

Poppy - I went for breakfast, but I'm dying to go back for lunch sometime to try some of those soups. I love soups.
