Egg Drop Wonton Soup

Every time I am sick with a cold or the flu, something I am dealing with right now, I crave soup.

Egg Drop Wonton soup, to be specific. I like to mix in about a tablespoon of that hot mustard that Chinese restaurants make and cover it with some of those crispy noodles they give you. Mmmm.

Yet, when I look at it the above picture it kinda makes my stomach roll.

What do you crave when you are sick?

I like Progresso All White Meat Chicken and Noodle soup with a dash of Tobasco Sauce in it.

Also, frozen yogurt, and usually a fruity flavor, which I despise otherwise.

Holly - You don't think the alcohol and the cold medicine offset each other? Fun to try though.

Jimmy - excellent choices, my friend. Excellent choices.

Michelle - you can use veggie wontons.

2abes - "jog a couple miles"...sorry, that made me laugh.

Hilly - always put some hot sauce in my chicken soup. And I do like progresso. Yum.

Far be it for me, a nurse, to suggest booze and dayquil combo but dammit.

Dayquil is good for clearing up the sinus crap. I add advil on top to aid with pain. Then, one does need the cranberry vodka (again thanks Geo-Joe for bringing this combo to my attention-brillant!)

As for the cranberry and vodka, fill a large, oversized coffee mug with ice, Lots and lots of ice, then the cranberry juice, then put a 1-2 oz of vodka in and stir.

The cranberry near frozen is essential, it takes the bite off the cranberry and the acidic nature of this drink helps heal.

The vodka helps warm the body, which is the point of a fever, it kills the virus or whatever the hell is ailing you. It is important to sweat it out, this sickness.

Plus, vodka takes the crabby away and EVERYONE appreciates that! :)

take care

I like tomato soup when I don't feel well.

And a few shots of whiskey.

Maybe some orange juice.

But, definately the whiskey.

Sometimes I mix it with tea.

:-D

Double cheeseburgers and birthday cake.

Holly - don't encourage him.

Callie - I like the way you think.

Adam - Huzzah for the double cheeseburger, but pass on the birthday cake. Always pass on the birthday cake. I'd rather have a double cheeseburger with a candle in the bun.

Hot tea, lots of it. Also chicken broth.

Nothing fancy, but I don't get sick enough to get a routine for it.

I love that Chinese mustard. Yum.

Ookami - I never used to get sick. Once I turned 35 I seem to get two bad colds a year. This is #1 for 2009.

Zibbs - I love it too, but I only use it in my soup.

Becky - somehow I knew Maker's Mark would be part of your cure. ;)

What do I crave? ... homemade hamburger helper with a lot of cheese and pasta in it, along with brocoli, mushrooms and tofu. Since when I get sick I tend to get pretty stuffed up, this really clears out my head, ( I like the idea of the hot mustard though, I might have to add that next time around ).

Marty - tastes better than it looks, if you ask me.

Bruce - mushrooms? I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Is egg drop soup supposed to be that yellow?

I like a huge glass of orange juice with a lot of ice in it.
